Red Spider Lilies

Lycoris radiata, known as the red spider lily, is a plant in the amaryllis family, Amaryllidaceae, subfamily Amaryllidoideae. It is considered naturalized in Seychelles and in the Ryukyu Islands. It flowers in the late summer or autumn, often in response to heavy rainfall. Some legends have it that when you see someone that you may never meet again, these flowers, also called red spider lilies or corpse flowers, would bloom along the path.
